Manila Twilight 3, please?

By on July 14, 2012

October 26th of  the year 2011, Owl City visited the Philippines to promote his latest album then — All Things Bright and Beautiful. The ATBAB Tour was attended my such passionate Owl City fans from all over the Philippines and I am proud to say that I am one of them. I was there. I attended the second concert of Owl City here in the Philippines with excitement in my heart and an Owl City tattoo on my face.

That night was the greatest night of my life. Really. If I can relive one moment in my entire life, I would go back to that day when I hugged the man who I always stalk in Twitter and Tumblr, the origin of my desire to create such social networking accounts. Yes, I forgot to mention I won a Meet and Greet Pass from MCA Music and that converted my dreams to reality.

And now, Twitter updates surprised Owl City fans all over the world when he announced that he’s shooting for a music video. Music video equals new single and new single means new album. A spark was lit, new album may lead to promo tours and concerts. This is the moment! The chance to relive what happened on October 26, 2011.

I prayed and prayed that Philippines will be included in the tour. I joined trending parties and bought his newest singles in the hope of getting those in the charts which will encourage Adam to see us again, his PH HootOwls.

The Tour dates were announced. I scrolled to see the bottom part which the Asian countries were usually scheduled but to my dismay, no Manila or Philippines was listed. I desperately searched for a next page button but failed to see one. I almost gave up but then, fellow fans were very encouraging and full of hope so I held my grip on hope tighter. This is just another challenge to prove that we deserve to be visited by Adam and I am willing to support OwlCityPh’s ways on promoting his music so he can see us again.

More effort, much more prayers!

Go Owl City Philippines! We can do this! 🙂

The ones the fangirl loves

By on May 5, 2011

I am not the kind of girl (you just sang “Speak now” by Taylor Swift) who adore every good-looking guy in showbiz or the most-cheered topless guy on magazines (I like Jake Cuenca, though haha!) but when I idolized, I idolize BIG TIME! The unusual thing is, I adore artists just when they’re not that famous anymore. And what’s more peculiar is I used to hate them when they’re on the peek of their fame.

The band

Filipino band. Fronted by Miggy Chavez with Mong Alcaraz, Calde Calderon, Macoy Estacio and Ariel Lumanlan on his side. I believe the first time I heard of this band was when it’s the reign of their song “Seven Black Roses”. I just can’t understand the lyrics and why they stayed on the Pinoy MYX Countdown. But luckily, I have this emo friend, Rizza, who introduced me to this band and wholeheartedly lend me the mp3 filled with Chicosci’s songs. And I was caught by Miggy’s unique voice. Yung parang mapapaos na na hindi. Basta! Ahaha. And then there, I just saw myself attending the most hardcore concerts and gigs that you can think of. Yes, yung may batuhan ng bote at sinelas. I went there and endured the sweating crowd because CHICOSCI was there.

The one-man band

Honestly, I was irritated with “Fireflies” then because I think it was so overplayed. Whenever I’m watching Phineas and Ferb and decides to switch to a music channel, I always see this man on his keyboards surrounded by a lot of toys. It’s crazy. It happens all the time! I wonder if the channel is on holiday that their songs are on repeat every 5 minutes. That’s how irritated I was (I hope no hootowl will get angry at me.) Until, “Vanilla Twilight” came. It was like the song was perfectly written for me. The melody was exactly the way my ears wanted it to be. And Adam looked cute on the video. 🙂 So I Googled OWL CITY and died. I was like “WHAT THE HELL  I WAS THINKING HATING FIREFLIES AND ALL?” From then on, I made a pact that I’ll be making a twitter account to stalk Adam Young and that I’ll do everything to support him. ♥

To conclude, for me artists have different styles and ways in expressing their ideas and works of art what makes them great is the appreciation and the effect that it bring to the people whom they share their work into. 🙂

There, I wish you found any interesting things LOL jk. I know that’s hard but thanks for reading. Thanks for letting me share my fangirling stuff.

Elisha and Dylan

By on March 2, 2011

As I stalk Adam Young’s Twitter profile, I saw a reply to an unfamiliar person so I never hesitated to click that tweet and keenly read it. “So the lucky one’s a girl” I first thought of. But then as I finished reading it, I figured out that this lucky girl that I supposed was not that at all very lucky because she’s encountering a serious problem in her family. Adam Young tweeted her to send his support on Elisha (the girl on his twitter) and his little brother Dylan who was diagnosed with a bone disease called Multiple Hereditary Exostoses (MHE). I knew this because I was able to track Elisha’s Tumblr account on twitter. There she posts about her brother’s disease and her eagerness to help the foundation which supports children who has the same situation as his brother.

If you have time, I suggest you visit her page. There you’ll know what does “the best sister in the world” would truly mean.

For all the times I begged for Owl City to come back in the Philippines, I realized just now that there is more to life than seeing my favorite singer perform on a faraway stage and that is to be able to help others.

His Wonders

By on February 16, 2011

Before, I used to listen to different artists when I’m bored or kind of sad. Until I discovered Vanilla Twilight (yeah, not Fireflies) and since then, Adam has been able to capture my heart in his every songs. It’s like I’m in a different world when I hear his voice, perhaps it’s in his world he’s bringing me and that’s when I started listening to a single artist more often. And yeah, I am able to make other people’s heavy feelings lighter -and mine also, of course- just by citing lines from his songs.
Thank you, Adam.
