Monsters University

At Monsters University :)

Nope! This isn’t a movie review because, nope!, I haven’t watched the movie yet.

But I just want to write about my fascination to the idea of this movie. I mean, Monsters Inc. was already an amazing movie and yes, I already expected a sequel wherein Boo is a grownup but look at what they’ve got now! I think this is more interesting than having a part 2.

Looking back at how they became scarers is really an interesting idea. And though Boo is not yet on the movie, I think this is still as cool as the first. Just thinking of how Randall became who he is makes me wonder a lot. Eeeek! I have to watch it before the spoilers come rushing in!

Titanic 3D

By on May 20, 2012

It’s listed in my phone calendar. The anniversary of Titanic’s catastrophic ending. I never forgot about it though, but I still I let it stay there. Actually, like many of us, I just knew about Titanic because of the movie. The first time I watched it, I was a grade school student and barely understood English. So when given a chance, I borrowed the VCD’s from our Lola and one by one placed the 3 CDs in our component which was then unharmed by Ondoy.

I loved it. I cried over it. I watched it again and again. And from then on, I had something to write on the “Favorite Movie:” slot on my classmate’s slumboooks.

The movie never fails to make me cry and I believe I have written a lot about Titanic here or on my other blogs. I just can’t get enough. And so when I heard about Titanic being showed in 3D, I got so excited. Very, very, very excited that I forgot to save money.

Since the day I heard the news, my plan has been to watch it on the exact day of its 100th year. April 14th. But the day came and I still have no money and I have a class then so I said to myself, “Okay. Maybe on Saturday.” And Saturday it became. Together with Yanyan, another Titanic fan and a friend of mine, I hurriedly rushed to the mall to buy tickets for a 2:45pm movie just to find out that the cinemas only show this Avengers movie.

And would you believe if I say that we raided three malls just to be able to watch the 3D version of Titanic but with no luck. All three malls that we’ve visited seem to be prioritizing the superhero-packed movie which left us long-faced, tired and hungry we just decided to eat at McDonald’s and hate the other movie there.

I still can’t believe I missed the chance of watching my most favorite movie ever in 3D. And I haven’t watched any 3D movie yet.

The Hunger Games Experience

By on March 25, 2012

My blogger friend Mahj joined an online contest in which she won  two movie tickets for the movie, The Hunger Games. She posted about not having someone to use the other ticket and I got interested so I messaged her saying that I can be the one that will use it. Though I haven’t got any idea about the movie nor the book itself, I was still so excited to watch it because it’s free! 🙂

And so to the movies we went.

At first I thought it will be just like an ordinary movie screening where we will be handed the tickets and we’ll enter the cinema but I was wrong. As we got there, we were standing in line with so many elite people, even some celebrities were there. We received our tickets together with a loot bag from the sponsors and what shocked me the most was the cocktail tables where we ate foods that I admittedly have never tasted before.

We also met some bloggers there and the funny thing is we exchanged not only contact number but blog URLs as well. You wouldn’t see that in a usual gathering you know. 🙂

At exactly 9pm, the movie started and we were the only ones who were talking probably because the others knew what will happen already while I and Mahj kept on guessing why things went that way or what will happen next. I ended up wanting to read the book and hopefully I can watch more of The Hunger Games (for free? lol)
